I have just remembered a discussion I had with a colleague over 10 years ago. I told him HTML was really easy. And he asked, if it is so easy, how come our company can’t find somebody to fill an open position in our UI team. After thinking about it for a few seconds, I said, well HTML is easy, but the browsers are not compliant…
Skip forward to this last week. I coded the most HTML/CSS compliant page. Dumped it into Marketo. Sent a test letter… and realized have to go back to the dark ages, where compliance is an issue, and I try to hit a lower standards in the name of esthetics.
Background images are out. Tables are in. Aaarg!
